Deck Building and Level System - V0.03


  • New Mechanics / Content
    • Deck Building mechanics
      • Start with a deck of islands, it is shuffled at the start of each level
      • If your deck runs out of islands, you cannot place any more islands, even if the number of islands left is above 0
      • Show deck button at the top of screen to displays everything left in the deck, does not reveal order of deck
    • Levels require a goal score be achieved to win
      • Goal scales with every additional level completed
    • Book island
      • Works well with other book islands
      • Has 4 cannon slots, all 4 are always filled
    • End level screen
      • Displays 6 islands to choose between for your deck
        • Can choose 0-2 of these islands for your deck
    • End game screen
      • If you do not meet the goal for a level, go to this screen, has info about your run
        • High score
        • Rounds played
      • Main menu button
  • Gameplay Changes
    • Coral reef now has a better bias to spawn in more usable locations, instead of only on deep water borders
    • Amount of islands you can place can be limited by deck size, or islands left number
    • Islands left number scales through the game, increases by 1 every round played
  • Clarity Changes
    • Pause Screen (opens with esc key):
      • Reference sheet with info on islands
        • Shows how much each island’s cargo is worth when it hits other types of islands
        • Shows example cannon setup of island clicked on, as well as info about it
      • Main menu button
    • Range Indicator
      • Displays position that cannons will fire to
        • Shows points before any buffs from other islands
  • Optional Tutorial
